This Year (C.S. Lewis)

4.99

“This Year,” a meditative new art song for baritone voice and piano, is a setting of C.S. Lewis’s poem “What the Bird Said Early in the Year.” Listeners may recognize the poem to be the one displayed along Addison’s Walk, on the grounds of Magdalen College, where the poem is set. Listen, and you will overhear the hopeful thoughts of a bird singing that perhaps this year, this year the Curse will be overthrown… and the spell be undone.
